On the afternoon of January 17th 2018, the first book conference for junior high school students was held at the Yanhedadao campus. All teachers, students and some parents participated in this event. Each author from class of MYP1, MYP2 and IEC were holding their own works. They walked proudly the red carpet, showed their handmade books and signed their names on the signature wall. After the personal exhibition, students watched and learned from each other. Parents and teachers enjoyed every creative manual works at the exhibition. During this period, the teacher in charge showed the process of the birth of those handmade books to the teachers and parents.

With the principles of equity, fairness and openness, all students voted within the designated area. Mrs. Samantha, Executive Principal of WHBC; Ms. Freda, President of Junior High School; Ms. Rebecca, Academic Director, and all teachers and attending parents also voted for the best work in their minds. WHBC book conference came to an end successfully when the voting finished.

On the afternoon of January 22th, the award ceremony of book conference was officially held. In the end, Song Jiabao won the first prize witnessed by the students, participating parents, and all the teachers. Pu Ti and Jiang Zhiyan won the second place. Tang Ningwan, Liu Zhiyi, Qian Xianyu, Zhang Jiyang, Tao Zhiyi, Tang Shaohan, Hu Jingyi and Hu Yachen won the third place. In addition, Song Jiabao got the Best Creative Award, Meng Feiyang got the Best Illustration Award, and Tao Zhiyi won the Best Cover Design Award, Liu Zhiyi won the Best Format Design Award and Zong Yifan won the Best Color Award.

The teacher of Reading Project said that all WHBC students were very hard working and they love study. During the semester activities, our students created a lot of works, and both of them showed a wealth of imagination and innovation. In the eyes of teachers, innovation is the most valuable thing. Our students from IB class not only have the ability to try and think differently, but also they love to meet the challenge and try their best. We hope that our students will learn from reading. We look forward to seeing more exciting and outstanding performance of students in the future.
