IFY
    1. What is the minimum / maximum ages for students on the IFY programme (and other programmes)?
Normally students will enter the IFY when they are 17, and progress to universities when they are 18. Students who enter the IFY at age 16 are more difficult to place to UK universities (because of UK child protection legislation rather than academic ability) and may have to defer their unconditional offer for certain universities. There is no maximum age for enrolment on any NCUK programme however: undergraduate students who have had a long break in their education should be sent to nse@ncuk.ac.uk for consideration to ensure that they are able to succeed on the programme postgraduate students who have had a long break in their education may require work experience relevant to their proposed postgraduate study programme.
    2.Is it possible to submit the application to British universities and Australian universities at the same time?
We request students to decide their desirable country in November in order to plan their application procedure beforehand. Therefore it is not possible for foundation students to apply British universities and Australian universities at the same time.
    3.Are there any restrictions on major selection?
Students can apply all the engineering and management programs except clinical medicine or other related programs which requires the test results of biology and chemical. Besides, IFY is incompetent to the application of art program, such as dancing. However, it is possible to apply programs associated to arts: Architectural design, music editing, for instance.
PMP
    1.Why should we choose GD/PMP?
Our postgraduate pathway programmes will prepare you for success on a Masters course. Our Graduate Diploma (NCUK Grad Dip) and Pre-Masters Programme (NCUK PMP) provide specialised English for Academic Purposes training and an introduction to the research methodology skills that you will need for postgraduate study in the UK.
    2. For postgraduate programmes, most universities, especially Russell Group ones require students to graduate from a “good” or “prestigious” university but they do not say which universities those are. How do we know which Chinese universities satisfy this requirement, is there any lists?
This is a good question which relates mainly to Chinese universities (there are so many!) but also applies in general. Unfortunately NCUK universities are cautious about publicising these lists, and the issues is also complex because the list differ not only between universities, but also between Faculties and Schools. In general, students and counsellors have a strong knowledge of whether students have graduated from a leading university in their country, or within their specialism. If there is any doubt, it is best to make the application and give the university chance to judge the application holistically.
    3.What is the weakness in Chinese study and how can PMP improve it?
Reports shown several characteristics of Chinese students:
-They are too quiet and unwilling to express themselves in class;
-They don’t take active part in group work;
-They feel difficult to finish long essay and project research;
-They are lack of creative spirit.
The objective of PMP is to compensate for the traditional Chinese education by adopting British teaching mode: Group work, presentation and case study, for instance.
    4.Is it possible for junior college students and students without diploma to apply British universities?
These students are able to apply British universities, but they are required to have more than three years work experience. In general, students without diploma are required to study 9-monthes PMP course so as to compensate their academic weakness. Students with professional work experience may advisably shorten the study time.
    5.Is it compulsory for students with IELTS and TOEFL to take the entrance examination?
The entrance examination is not compulsory for students with IELTS result; they are only required to attend an interview by offering their IELTS certificate. We don’t accept TOEFL result.
    6.Is it required to take IELTS?
Majority of NCUK owners universities accept the test results of PMP and there are only a very few programs required IELTS or GMAT results.
