At 8:30 A.M, Tuesday, March 6, 2018, the international admission officer of Western University (Original University of Western Ontario), Ms. Betty Chang, visited our school. Based on Western University’s courses, campus environment, campus activities, application requirements etc., Ms. Betty Chang gave a novel presentation.

The Western University, a public medical doctoral university which has been praised as “the most beautiful university in Canada”, has a more-than-130-year academic accumulation and an abundant human resource background. The university sits at a famous city in Canada, London, which is located between Canadian metropolis Toronto and American metropolis Detroit. The Richard Ivey School of Business established by Western University in 1922 is one of the oldest and most influential business school in Canada. It awarded the earliest business administration master’s degree and doctor’s degree in Canadian history and it is one of the two origins of the North American case law education (The other is Harvard University) The multiple colleges and majors in Western university gives students the opportunity to study in depth beside developing their interest. Moreover, the university has been devoting to create a diversified atmosphere in study life. In recent years, the intake rate to Asian students is maintained at about 8%. This gave opportunity to the Asian students to get to know more local students and international students from other countries, and helped them to join in the community. The most important is that students would have the opportunity to transfer to France, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Britain etc. The superior conditions resulted in the high employment rate of 94% after graduation from this university.

Through Ms Betty Chang’s vivid explanation, the students did not only gained better interpretation of Western University, but also made clear their way of studying abroad and raised their expectation on the future university life. At the end of the presentation, Ms. Chang answered the students’ questions patiently, and she said that the students may feel free to ask her any question any time later. Meanwhile, she expected to see more students from WHBC in the beautiful campus at Western University soon in the future.
